Why Dads with Wisdom Started Fatherhood Fires
Dads with Wisdom is an organization devoted to fathers, and Fatherhood Fires grew out of a response to the challenge of isolation in modern fatherhood. Men build stronger connections in person, when they see each other more often, and even more so around a fire. Rather than one-off events, we focus on small, local, self-sustaining third spaces that keep meeting long after the first spark. Our role is to help light the first few fires and then step back, so the fathers themselves keep the space alive.
Dads with Wisdom exists to help fathers show up more fully for their families and communities. Fatherhood Fires is one way we make that possible, through consistent, low-pressure connection with other dads.

Meet the Founder
Fatherhood Fires was founded by Adam Angel, a licensed clinical social worker with 20 years of experience working with youth, adults, and families. His specializations include postpartum mood and anxiety disorders and developmental trauma.
Adam has spent the last five years running Dads with Wisdom serving over 500 fathers. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland and earned his MSW at Howard University, then went on to work in the nonprofit world, where he facilitated a number of groups, including groups for men.
Adam lives in Silver Spring with his wife, two kids, and their dog.
